Tummy tuck with or without drain safer?

Tummy Tuck

Member Response:

Drains don’t make it safer. I commend you on losing 85lbs. Drain vs no drain should not make the decision on surgeon. Look at the results and talk to their patients if you can. I use drains almost always. I use same techniques as stainless tummy tucks but with the high definition liposuction I do I would prefer for all the fluid to be drained so I use drains.

Panniculectomy

Member Response:

This is mainly cosmetic but you could have a great result with an abdominoplasty. Option could be going to an academic center where they may do under insurance or low fee. There are also many financing options if you would want to go down that path.

Options after disfiguring lipo

Thigh Lift

Member Response:

Sorry for the abnormal contours. Thighs and arms are hard and unforgiving. With a good physical examination appropriate plan could be laid out. Vaser and renuvion are good options. Some areas might just need to be smoothened out without suction. If too much taken from inner portion possibly could need medial thigh lift.

Would you as a doctor allow me to get a breast reduction

Breast Reduction

Member Response:

I would like to know why you are wanting a breast reduction? Is it something that could help you in better health? Any surgery is going to be risky. We would get clearance from your primary care and any specialist? This would have to be done at a hospital with overnight stay. You will be on anticoagulation prop and post operatively. Would work to get you medically optimized before undertaking any surgery.

General Reconstruction

Member Response:

If you want to do something for the look of it you may end up worse with a split nail deformity. If it’s the pain then a kenalog or steroid injection may help soften the scar tissue

Breast Lift

Member Response:

Is it all along the incision or certain points. If it is a certain location then some kenalog injections can help.

Had Tummy tuck and 360 lipo 2 years ago this morning i woke up big, like if no tummy tuck was perfor

Tummy Tuck

Member Response:

Without a picture and examination it is tough to tell what has happened. Has there been any weight. Since the surgery? Did you have a hernia that was fixed during surgery? Any other medical problems or abdominal surgeries? This could be a recurrence of rectus diastasis but there has to be a cause and would not happen that quickly from the sutures coming undone. You might have had a hernia or umbilical hernia that recurred

Visible scar

Eyelid Surgery

Member Response:

It will get better with time. However the incisions were made high and that’s why they are visible. I would not do revision and just allow to heal and possibly laser treatment

Panniculectomy

Member Response:

Look up plastic surgeon I. Your area or if you are trying to have insurance cover it you would likely need to go to an academic center. Also will depend on health status and bmi.

Post Breast Augmentation Pain

Breast Augmentation

Member Response:

3 weeks is short time. I do suggest doing massage. Sometimes the dominant side will be tighter if you use that arm and muscle may also be larger on affected side. Over the next few weeks this should subside. I do recommend massage and talking to your surgeon.

Shy/Nervous about initial appointment

Breast Reduction

Member Response:

Breast exam is usually short we take some measurements using a measuring tape and sometimes we may obtain photos on first visit. I would see the plastic surgeon and get to feel comfortable with them. I only do exams and have patients change into a robe after we have talked and patient understands the procedure and is comfortable with moving forward. Breast reduction patients are some of the happiest patients because it improves the patients confidence and quality of life. I would say do some breathing exercises to get you into a relaxed state.

Uneven breast after lift

Breast Lift

Member Response:

It’s too early to tell. Will take 6 months for the breast to settle out and take shape and all swelling to be gone. It’s also tough to say anything about the nipples until the steri strips are off. The results look great I think you just need to wait.

can I get the non surgical nose job(filler/injection) before getting an actual rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty

Member Response:

It will not affect the rhinoplasty. It may make it harder with scarring but an experienced plastic surgeon can usually do a great job with the rhinoplasty. The non surgical rhino you have to worry about potential complications. Also you may not be a candidate for non surgical because it might not be able to achieve your outcome.

Any hope for unsatisfied lower blepharoplasty? (surgical or non)

Eyelid Surgery

Member Response:

Yes small amount of fat grafting can fix the issues you are experiencing.

High BMI

Liposuction

Member Response:

Gastric bypass is not for everyone but instead of spending money on surgeries that you most likely won’t be happy with and risk your life is not a good idea. I would suggest trying one of the weightloss medications suck as ozempic or mounjaro which can help reduce the weight and then you can have surgery with less risk and better cosmetic outcomes.

DIEP Flap is red

DIEP Flap Breast Reconstruction

Member Response:

More worrisome is the mastectomy flap but the DIEP flap also looks somewhat red and swollen. The surgeon has seen it and seen its progression but I would be in touch with them because you may need to be seen earlier.
