Breast reconstruction after mastectomy
Breast ReconstructionMember Response:
Geraldine, while there are several plastic surgeons in the Pittsburgh area specializing in breast reconstruction, I am not aware of any who would claim to do 100% only breast reconstruction following mastectomy. That being said, the majority of my practice focuses on breast reconstruction, and I certainly would be happy to help you.
could I get a breast reduction revision??
Breast ReductionMember Response:
You are absolutely a candidate for a revision to further reduce and lift your left breast. As others have stated, insurance may not cover the revision. My office offers virtual consultations to discuss further, but I would need to see and examine you in person as well.
Will I be a good candidate for a breast reduction?
Breast ReductionMember Response:
Erin, as Dr. McCall stated, the process begins by consulting with a board-certified plastic surgeon. The surgeon’s office would then then submit to insurance on your behalf in order to obtain preauthorization. Insurance companies have different criteria for coverage, which can sometimes be frustrating, but my office would be happy to work with you. We offer virtual consultations to at least get the process started during the current COVID-19 crisis.
