Nickolay P. Markov, MD, is a highly skilled plastic surgeon board certified in general surgery and plastic surgery. He earned his medical degrees from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and attended Brooke Army Medical Center for his general surgery residency.
Dr. Markov completed his plastic surgery fellowship at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and his microsurgery fellowship at Yale New Haven Hospital.

For 20 years I had breast implant illness issues, but had no idea that BII was "a thing". I had been so sick for so long and near death so many times. My mom calls me and tells me to get my breasts checked, because she was sure that the implants were killing me. I did, jut to give say "I did it", but not really believing it. Went to my General Surgeon and he told me he was going to refer me to the "best Plastic Surgeon in town. He is going to do an excellent job for you and he is going to take care of you. I know him personally, and he is not only an excellent surgeon. He has a Great Heart." Those were the words I was sent off to Dr. Markov's office. I was very nervous, because I have been to so many doctors. I had done so many mammograms and no one had said anything that would give me hopes of my implants being an issue. My husband and I went to see Dr. Markov. He saw me. And you know when they know. He was of a few words but of assertive actions. I finally felt like I had arrived to the right hands and the right mind. My husband and I awaited for the day of surgery. It came and went. I nervous as to how my breasts were going to look like after the explant. They are beautiful. The scars are almost non visible (I'm almost 2 months since surgery). Something that I was very impressed with was Dr. Markov's certainty of his job, before and after surgery. You don't want anyone to do a major surgery who doubt themselves. Dr. Markov's knows what he is doing and that is worth everything. My husband, my mom and siblings, and of course, I are so deeply thankful for saving my life by removing the implants and their capsules. I'm still in "recovery" mode. Almost 50 yrs old, and pain management was difficult, but I can see that my body is starting to respond positively to the surgery.
