Dr. Luke Cusimano’s is a Baton Rouge plastic surgeon.  His education began with an undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University and an M.D. from American University of the Caribbean. He then completed a General Surgery residency at State University Buffalo in Buffalo, NY and fellowship training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Tulane University in New Orleans. He is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. While at Tulane University, Dr. Cusimano studied and trained in the most advanced breast reconstruction procedures. Tulane University was the first institution to popularize autologous breast reconstruction, and Dr. Cusimano learned this and other advanced techniques firsthand.

As a breast reconstruction specialist, Dr. Cusimano can offer specialized and personal care to breast cancer patients and those with breast deformities. This process is extremely rewarding from the initial consultation onward. Dr. Cusimano finds that discussing reconstruction often gives patients hope and a sense of healing or closure after difficult and painful experiences. Dr. Cusimano is the father to three boys. In addition to staying up-to-date with new innovations in plastic and reconstructive surgery, he enjoys learning more about fitness and nutrition. An avid outdoorsman, Dr. Cusimano enjoys deep-sea fishing and hunting and playing sports or watching college football.
