Patient Testimonials
I started noticing fat loss on my face had become progressively worse in my late 30's. My eyes and my mid cheek area became droopy causing visible tear troughs, deep nasolabial folds and even the dreaded jowling, making me look tired even though I was getting enough rest. I felt that gravity took a toll on me much earlier than it did on my same age peers. After seeing phenomenal results on other patients who had received the fat transfer procedure from Dr.Albert, I decided that at the age of 40, it was time for me to go for a facial fat transfer. The fat was harvested from my abdominal area. Numbing of the donor area had minimal pain, about 1 on a scale from 1-10. After the area was numbed well, the fat was harvested. I loved that during the procedure I was able to self administer "laughing gas" which eliminated any anxiety I had about getting a procedure. After the face was numbed and the abdominal fat was processed, It was inserted to my face via a small cannula and on a scale from 1-10, the pain was definitely below 1. First, the processed fat was inserted laterally to re-build my cheeks. Not only this has lifted the corners of my eyes but has given me a fuller and more youthful face while also minimizing the facial droopiness. Fat was also inserted close to under the eye area and mid cheek. My lips were also droopy and asymmetrical and this was corrected as well. I had very very fain yellowish bruising around my cheeks, however it was so unnoticeable that I did not even have to wear make up post op. The abdominal area was a bit more bruised and sore but this was to be expected since the harvesting cannula is much thicker and longer than the cannula the fat is inserted in the face with. Dr.Albert understood exactly what I wanted and knew exactly how to give me my desired results without overfilling my face. And, he has the magic touch! I highly recommend Dr.Albert to anyone who wants to turn back the clock by 10 years!!! -A.S.
Dr. Albert and the staff are amazing. Extremely professional and friendly. From the moment you walk into the office you feel welcomed. Dr. Albert will answer all of your questions to the point you are 100% confident and at ease about any procedure you are going in for. The ladies are sweet and extremely helpful and attentive to all patients. I would 100% recommend this practice. -R.N.
Dr. Albert is hands down the best plastic surgeon I could have asked for and I would recommend him to anyone. He not only gave me my dream nose, but also was so kind, helpful, and supportive every step of the way. From my first initial virtual consultation to my post op visit with him, Dr. Albert has always done nothing but impress me with his professionalism as a surgeon, in addition to his warm and compassionate bedside manner. He was honest and realistic with me about my expectations and ultimately delivered beautiful, unimaginable results. If I ever decide to get any plastic surgery done again, I wouldn't even think twice about going back to Dr. Albert. Thank you so much again for everything you and your incredible team (Brittanie, Thalia, Joyce) did for me and I will only continue to speak highly of you and your profession! -B.M.

Ask a Surgeon
Dr. Mark Albert participates in the ASPS Ask A Surgeon service. View responses to public questions below.
Will a breast reduction reduce pain from my scoliosis?
Breast ReductionMember Response:
Hello, I would need more information about your breasts and other factors to comment on whether a breast reduction would help your back pain. I would not be able to speculate about scoliosis surgery since plastic surgeons do not perform spine surgery for scoliosis. I would recommend a virtual consultation to discuss your case further. Mark G. Albert, M.D. New York, NY
Breast Reduction
Breast ReductionMember Response:
Hello, I would suggest finding someone near you who performs breast reduction regularly. Then, set up a virtual or in person consultation through their website. After this visit, the doctor will submit a letter to your insurance company on your behalf and once it’s approved, you can schedule the surgery. Mark G. Albert, M.D. New York, NY
Can a Plastic Surgeon do a combined Ventral fat hernia repair with a Tummy tuck?
Tummy TuckMember Response:
It depends on the size of the hernia. It is reasonable to do it at the same time in a conservative fashion. Often plastic surgeons have a specific general surgeon they do cases with. I would recommend a virtual consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your case further. Mark G. Albert, M.D. New York, NY
Blood clot
Tummy TuckMember Response:
Hello, assuming you are on Coumadin or a comparable medication, I would not advise proceeding with this particular procedure until you finish the medication. I would suggest speaking about this further with a board certified plastic surgeon. Mark G. Albert, M.D. NYC & BOS
Fat grafting
Breast AugmentationMember Response:
Hello, yes, fat is usually taken from multiple sites like you’ve mentioned. Surgery does occur in 1 setting. It’s possible that the fat can fluctuate slightly with weight loss or gain. I recommend a complimentary virtual consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon near you. Mark G. Albert, M.D. New York, NY
After weightloss surgery
Thigh LiftMember Response:
Hello, chances are two of these procedures can be combined but it depends how extensive the work is on a case-by-case basis. Your safety is our top priority and combining procedures can lead to complications if too much is attempted at once. I would recommend setting up a virtual consultation with a surgeon near you by calling their office or looking on their webpage. Mark Albert, MD NYC + MA
Broken nose
RhinoplastyMember Response:
Hello, a rhinoplasty would be the procedure that involves moving the bone back to its original position. This should be done under general anesthesia. I recommend a virtual consult with a board-certified surgeon near you. Mark Albert MD New York, NY
Scars
LiposuctionMember Response:
Hello, The scar locations you described are very common because most patients do well with these locations. If you strongly object to them, it is possible to use alternate locations. Also, using laparoscopic scars for liposuction is very possible. I recommend setting up a virtual consultation with a local surgeon to discuss this further. Mark Albert, M.D. New York, NY
Asymmetrical Face after jaw surgery
Cosmetic SurgeryMember Response:
Hi Abigail, Thank you for your question and for providing a photo. It is hard to say for sure without seeing you but based on the photo it’s possible that fat grafting may address your concerns. There are also other things that we can consider. I would recommend setting up a virtual consultation. Mark Albert, M.D. NYC & BOS
Qualifications for a breast reduction
Breast ReductionMember Response:
Hello, Brest reduction can help symptoms such as back and shoulder pain, bra grooving, rashes under the breasts, interference with exercise, among others. Some insurance companies ask patients to explore physical therapy and other modalities before they will cover surgery. This happens on a case by case basis. I would recommend setting up a virtual consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon in your area to discuss this further. Thank you for your question. Mark G. Albert, M.D. New York, NY
Will this qualify me for Breast reduction Surgery?
Breast ReductionMember Response:
Hello, Thank you for your question. Your MRI indicates that you have a bulging disc (mild) and some spinal joint diseasee. I wouldn't be able to predict whether this would be able to get your breast reduction covered by iteself. I would need to know more about your symptoms and why the MRI was ordered in the first place. Based on the information you have provided, you seem to be a very good candidate to have a breast reduction covered by insurance. I would set up a virtual consultation with a surgeon with you to discuss your symptoms and review the context of your MRI. Thank you. Mark G. Albert, M.D. New York, NY
Fractured nose
RhinoplastyMember Response:
It’s unlikely that the crookedness would change much after the bones heal in that crooked position. The nose does certainly change with time (the tip droops as we age, etc) but I wouldn’t expect that the bone position would change dramatically.
Indent
Cosmetic SurgeryMember Response:
Hello, this can likely be corrected with autologous fat transfer. It can be be done awake under local anesthesia or under general. The cost varies quite a bit depending on practice and location, and I would estimate anywhere from $2,500-$10,00. I wish you the best. Mark G. Albert, M.D.
Frowning Belly Button & Loose Skin HELP!
Tummy TuckMember Response:
Hi Julianna, Great work with the weight loss! Since I cannot see your whole abdomen, it's hard to tell whether you should go for a tummy tuck. It may be possible to do a smaller office-based procedure under local anesthesia to address just the area above your belly button. Most surgeons are offering virtual consultations now, so it may be a good time to get a complimentary consult! I wish you the best. Mark Albert, M.D.
I am looking for the best solution for my case to have symmetrical shape
LiposuctionMember Response:
Hello, It is unlikely that this was caused by surgery but it is not possible to tell without seeing you in person. Fat grafting is a good solution for this and it could be done awake under local anesthesia. I wish you the best. Mark Albert, M.D.
Philtrum Surgery
RhinoplastyMember Response:
Hi Areeonuh, A lip lift can shorten philtrum length and there are procedures that can cha he the shape of the philtrum. I would recommend consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon to explore your options. Mark G. Albert, M.D. New York, NY
Facial Mole Removal on the Nose - Flat Mole
Cosmetic SurgeryMember Response:
Hi Satyai, Based on the photo you provided, I think this would best be treated with a shave since it is quite superficial. I would send the specimen to pathology to be certain there are no concerning features before discarding it. I wish you the best. Mark G. Albert, M.D. New York, NY
