Scar revision surgery will attempt to minimize a scar so that it is less conspicuous and blends in with the surrounding skin tone and texture.

How much does scar revision cost?

Cost is always a consideration in elective surgery. Prices for scar revision procedures can vary. A surgeon's cost for scar revision may vary based on his or her experience, the type of procedure used, as well as geographic location.

Many plastic surgeons offer patient financing plans for scar revision, so be sure to ask.

Scar revision costs may include:

Surgeon's fee
Hospital or surgical facility costs
Anesthesia fees
Prescriptions for medication
Post-surgery garments
Medical tests

Most health insurance plans will not cover scar revision surgery, related complications or another surgery to revise the appearance of your scar. You must carefully review your health insurance policy.
