Male Breast Reduction | Case Details
A 14 yo young man who is troubled having developed female appearing breasts at the age of 11. The medical term for this is gynecomastia, and in his case as in many cases the cause is idiopathic or "unknown" Some studies suggest that as many as 30-35 % of young boys may notice some female appearing breast development at the time of puberty, but in most it resolves on its own within 18 months. If it lasts longer than it is most likely not going to resolve without surgery. He is happy to have a normal appearing chest and no longer fears "shirts vs skins" in gym class.
