Male Breast Reduction | Case Details
This 33-year-old was referred to Dr. Parker by another gynecomastia patient for treatment of his enlarged breasts. The patient first noted breast enlargement at puberty and it has persisted into his adulthood. He recently lost 30 pounds without any change in the appearance of his breasts. The patient is 5' 11? and now weighs 220 pounds. He asked Dr. Parker to reduce and lift his breasts. After discussing all the options with the patient at his initial consultation, they agreed to have Dr. Parker remove the appropriate amount of breast tissue at surgery and observe for skin contraction. If necessary, a formal breast lift could be performed secondarily. At surgery, Dr. Parker removed 300 ccs of fat and breast tissue through a tiny incision in the patient’s armpit using both liposuction and specialized cannulas. The patient recovered quickly afterward and is very happy with the improved appearance of his breasts. He feels much more self-confident and is glad he was able to avoid undergoing a formal breast lift.
