Eyelid Surgery | Case Details
A man in his early 70's with obstruction of his vision from excess skin in his upper eyelids. He also wanted to have a natural, "unoperated" appearance after surgery. By analyzing his face we can see that as the face has deflated with age, the brows have descended, there is extra skin in the upper eyelids and lower eyelids, the lower eyelids are weaker, and the mid face has lost volume. The best results come from correcting all of these factors at once. He had an endoscopic brow lift. Upper eyelid blepharoplasty. Transconjunctival (through the inside of the eyelid)excision of bulging fat pads of the lower eyelid. A "pinch" excision of skin from the lower eyelids without violating the support of the orbicularis muscle. A lateral canthopexy (tightening) of the lower eyelids and micro fat grafting to the cheeks where they are hollow. After surgery he looks rested and more like his early photo from when he was younger, because we have corrected the deformity of aging without creating a deformity from the surgery.
