Plastic Surgery 2008New Tips and Tricks with Injectables & Dermal Fillers — Optimizing Patient Results


Objectives

  • During the aesthetic evaluation, identify potential issues such as asymmetries and general changes due to aging including (but not limited to) volume loss.
  • During the patient consultation, discuss the patient's goals and explain potential treatment options. Ensure appropriate patient understanding through the informed consent process.
  • Describe the different dermal fillers available for non-invasive facial rejuvenation.
  • Given the array of dermal fillers and injectable products, assess each option in order to design an effective treatment plan.
  • Explain pain management options and make appropriate decisions based on discussions with your patient.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the various injection techniques of dermal fillers such as depth of injection, degree of correction and massage recommendations.
  • While utilizing dermal fillers and injectable products, describe the actions that can lead to adverse events/complications and categorize subsequent management.
