Plastic Surgeons Warn of Malnutrition in Body Contouring Patients
Identifying malnutrition before surgery in massive weight loss patients seeking body contouring will significantly decrease surgical complications, accelerate wound healing, improve scar quality and boost patient energy levels, according to a study in the December issue of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery®, the official medical journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).

Practice Philosophy

My personal 'aesthetic sensibility' is this: A good aesthetic surgery result looks natural, not 'done'.  The ideal way for a prospective plastic surgery patient to decide to 'have something done,' and to get that natural result, is to get the best information available from a source with experience and appropriate credentials whom you trust with your well-being. This is what I do my best to provide for every individual that I meet in consultation.

All surgical procedures requiring intravenous sedation or general anesthesia are performed in a hospital-based operating room. Anesthesia services are provided exclusively by board-certified MD anesthesiologists, assisted by licensed CRNA's (Nurse Anesthetists).

Minor procedures requiring local anesthesia only or local anesthesia plus oral sedation can be performed in the office.

Consultations

The specialty of plastic surgery has seen dramatic advances over the last several years.  Many plastic surgery procedures have become less invasive, and can be accomplished with shorter scars.

The focus of facial aesthetic surgery in my practice is the restoration of facial volume associated with youth, rather than primarily removing tissue and ‘tightening faces up’. The focus of body contouring surgery in my practice is to provide natural, youthful contours for patients, rather than changes that make it quite obvious that plastic surgery has been performed.

Like plastic surgery, the field of medical aesthetics has also made remarkable advances. Medical aesthetics focuses on non-surgical means for restoring and preserving the youthfulness of facial features, and the body in general. New treatments and products are now available which can produce noticeable results immediately and, over time, reverse many common aging changes. Many treatments improve the results of, and shorten the recovery from, aesthetic plastic surgery procedures.

In order to provide our clients with the full spectrum of medical and surgical aesthetic technology, we have designed a fully integrated plastic surgery office and medical spa. We take pride in carefully evaluating emerging aesthetic technology, and in offering only those products, services and procedures which are safe, effective and scientifically sound.

Our mission is to provide each client with individualized care, specifically tailored to personal needs and goals, and to provide this in an environment which is private, peaceful, relaxing and restorative.
